The animals & monsters will level and suffer exp lose from death just like a normal player and will appear on maps based on their experience levels. Monsters don't spawn in predictable areas with predictable skills and stats, instead new spawns will have a range of abilities and areas in which they can appear. Also, not all information about the game will be published and some of the details will be more difficult for players to predict since exact, predictable information won't always be available. NPC prices will also be more dynamic to react better to players requirements while still keeping a good range available for player pricing. That means shops will lower what they pay if they are getting overstocked on items and raise the cost as more are bought.
With tougher maps and leveling monsters going in, you'll be much better off if you work in teams. Almost all maps will be multicombat and PK, while combat will be tuned so that one high level character will have to worry about a group of medium level players. If you're out harvesting, you might need to have others around to help protect you from the monsters and other players. Players can specialize in what they do to get even better at specific things, so having a group of players working together in their specialties can make better items.
As development progresses, more of the game will be tunable while the game is running without having to restart. That also means that monsters & players will get autosaved so you don't have to leave either. This also includes adding maps, monsters, and items to the game. Future extensions will even allow server based NPC's and bots to be added or modified with the same type of flexibility.
Your forum name is your player name! So if you need to get a hold of someone you just use the forums PM. In the future you will even be able to PM from inside the game and read or post as well.
The User Council will have authority in the game, including the ability to ban or unban players. They do not replace mods, instead they respond to player based requests or appeals for the good of the over all game, including reversing mod decisions. The User Council is voted in by the players. They vote on actions together to prevent one troublemaker from wreaking the game. Each month one member of the council will be replaced and a recall method is being looked at incase they really deviate from the players desires.
Future extensions will allow bot & macro scripts to run on the server itself with more direct access to information and easier ways to do things instead of having to program around the protocol. Approved scripts can be uploaded to enhance them even more.
This is a P2P world with small fees for most members and higher fees available for those who wish to contribute more $'s or need even more features. This also helps keep out the worst of the troublemakers since if they get banned, they will not get any refunds. The Right Of Appeal to the User Council is available to protect players rights.
There are many more additional features planned. This is just a basic listing of some of the general goals and features.
