This is a general notice to anyone working with .def files for the server ...

The server now supports one or more [version] blocks at the beginning of .def files. The information in the first [version] block is loaded loaded by the server and will be available in game to authorized users such as IM's and in audit files.

The format for a typical block is
[version]
def_name: sample.def
def_desc: Sample .def file
def_author: Learner
def_version: optional version code information as text
def_date: 2017-10-05
def_note: General comments about this version
[/version]

All fields are optional as is the entire block. The default for def_name is the actual filename that the server read the .def from so even that it is optional. Best practice is to not include def_name in the [version] so the server auto-populates the information.

Please start including this on all .def files to reduce confusion about what .def's are in use/loaded.
