Having watch how the new God announcements have been working as well as interactions with the IM's, I'm currently testing a new GIWS Level 4 enhancement that make God be more willing to make announcements about invasions, including and increased chance for more details.

One feature of the change is that when an IM send out map counts, it will delay God announcements by 1 hour (cumulative) instead of 2hrs since so often in the the past IM announcement has delayed God's messages so much that it often stays silent for as much as qwhrs if I hadn't intervened.

This change is on Test at this time if you want to check it out. This does increase th total monthly cost for GIWS if you want the maximum effect, but the monthly cost for Level 3 only is still the same as before.

More tuning may still happen.

Currently, if IM's did not provide a map count, does God message out map counts/status every OL hour during the invasion?

Currently God goes silent 2 hours for every announcement made (by him or IM's) cumulative, when it's not silent there is a % chance it will announce that it checks every hour, so it could be 2 hours or more depending on random. The Level 4 reduces the 2 hour to 1 hour, but the random chance and cumulative effects are still there.

I'm having a problem understanding the cost benefit at Level 4.

Depends on how often you want God to give hints, since it cut the minimum delay in half.There are other things but that is the most important. It will be up to the players to decide if the cost is worth the benefit or not, which is why it was implement as an additional level, so Level 3 still costs the same amount as in the past.

When you say the time is cumalative does that mean if IM's make 4 announcements 30 mins apart then GIWS won't even look for 4 hours aftet last announcment?

The time is cumulative but in your example 4 announcements 30 minutes apart uses up 2 hours, so after the last announcement God will be willing to consider announcing again after two more hours. Under the current system it would wait 6 hours more after the last one (2*4 - 2 vs (1*4-2)

Also, so people can better understand how this will help, I won't be forcing God to forget about the delays like have been these last several weeks. So you'll be hearing from God a lot less often compliments of IM's.

The increase is in a higher chance to get some or all of the counts, which currently is the only extra details easily available for automation.

Since this change slipped into Main accidentally, I'm just going to leave it available and get peoples feedback on it since not many have checked it out on Test. There is one bit of tuning I'm doing to it for when there are more then 1500 mobs invaded so it might just do a fill map count (when below level 4 it would never give full counts for that many mobs).
