OK, had a few ideas tonight about how better to handle a potential party system, this all relates to #Menu's, and the new KillBonus featured changes.

In previous discussions(2016), it's been told that no party members names/HP/MANA bars can be displayed on screen, still cant display their HP/MANA bars but CAN display party members names using #MENU system, some additions to variables(I assume)...

A good discussion needs to take place for how a party system could work, including taking into account problems/unusual cases.

Problems & unusual cases need to take into account how playrs join/leave, who's in charge, what happens if the player that's in charge logs off, what happens when players logoff and then later log back in.

What does it mean to have a party system?  ----   lets start at the basics and maybe flush this out.

^ Obviously lol xD

Problems & unusual cases need to take into account how playrs join/leave, who's in charge, what happens if the player that's in charge logs off, what happens when players logoff and then later log back in. - Think this has kind of/nearly been addressed within the KillBonus thread? With the KillBonus, players dont even have to be on same map, only logged in, to gain their exp on kill, given a few factors ofc like if mob[s] heal up fully, then that bonus is reset

As for players leaving/joining, I would probably go with having second player added to party becomes next Leader, providing requirements are met and no chance #pt creator coming back(IE time limit?)so second player added into #pt system would become new #pt leader. Or have a seperate party ranking system?? Also means original creator would miss out on whatever EXP the team has gained in that time hes been gone

#create_party / #join_party <name of creator>

#add_player <name> - maybe max 10 players per party? Or even more for guild gambits/instances?

#create_party / #join_party <name of creator>

#add_player <name> - maybe max 10 players per party? Or even more for guild gambits/instances?
- Would change #create_party to #create_party <name>/<letters>/<word>.. whatever takes their fancy at the time. Would change #join_party <name of creator> for obvious spam reasons as just previously mentioned to whatever said creator sets the party name as. Would change #add_player to #accept_player <name>
Maybe even have #add_player <name> so they get notified you want them in their party? or nah, probably abusable in some form as also mentioned above.

  • Players in a party have the option of /follow on one another.  Lets see some nice congo lines.
  • Players in a party have the option of sharing experience with one another.  There would have to be some strict restrictions here as to not allow the feature to be abused.
  • #plocaldrop might turn drops to appear in local chat (currently for high hp bosses, drops are announced in orange text to local chat). Might need to consider a separate log for drops as this could get a little spammy, especially the way MVP cleans up Posted Image )
  • Party members could have blue names, and show up as blue dots on the mini map
  • Special 'buffing' spells (to be added with the magic system in the future) for party members: what comes to mind is a defensive-mag expert specializing in party heals and party 'buffs', requiring the player to be partied and in close proximity
  • Can't attack party members in PK maps (i.e. temporary allies, even if from different guilds)
  • Special party chat, similar to #gm
  • Players in a party have the option of /follow on one another.  Lets see some nice congo lines. - Dunno about this one, would be nice to be able to follow PT leader(into death ofc Posted Image) but feel thats client side work to add the function? or maybe a command? #follow <name>, but then also, where does #follow stop, another command to unfollow? nah, unreliable
  • Players in a party have the option of sharing experience with one another.  There would have to be some strict restrictions here as to not allow the feature to be abused.- KillBonus change(https://www.other-li...-damagetracker/)
  • #plocaldrop might turn drops to appear in local chat (currently for high hp bosses, drops are announced in orange text to local chat). Might need to consider a separate log for drops as this could get a little spammy, especially the way MVP cleans up Posted Image) - Hehe, already addressed kinda, just feel like some small extra work to account for parties
  • Party members could have blue names, and show up as blue dots on the mini map - Posted Image
  • Special 'buffing' spells (to be added with the magic system in the future) for party members: what comes to mind is a defensive-mag expert specializing in party heals and party 'buffs', requiring the player to be partied and in close proximity - Have heal allies spell, maybe slightly more could be done with that for buffs aswell
  • Can't attack party members in PK maps (i.e. temporary allies, even if from different guilds) - Agree, have CurrentParty act as if allies/guild members, override it even to act as MAIN guild at that time?
  • Special party chat, similar to #gm - Yes I like this, #pt <message>

Just been thinking about the #Menu's and this party idea came back to mind. Have #Menu party popup auto upon joining one.. friends/team mates names added auto.. shit, even maybe have party members names a different colour, similar to TAGGED players but only visible as coloured by party members. Would still love to be able to see health/mana bars next to names but as far as I know would require alot more work probably in server protocol/client to make possible(??)

Any other ideas/suggestions please add!

Example: Party members names/health bars displayed on the left side of screen(Taken from Kal Online, old game i used to play, buffs are all directly above that) - Any mage could just click their spell, and click your name displayed on the left, rather than clicking your character during heat of battle with ridiculous animations/visuals getting in the way)

I say make it happen as best as you can, and put it on test for us to play with to iron out any bugs or we will be here talking about this for years to come.

I like your thinking....

Keep in mind also that the party should also get it's own private channel for talking in that only party members get
