Icons

Hotkeys

M - Map
G - Grid
D - Daytime
N - Nighttime
O - Birdsview

ESC - Close Map editor
Arrow keys - Move camera without tilting
Scroll wheel - Rotate/tilt camera
CTRL+Scroll - Faster Zooming in/out

CTRL+ B - Opens 3D objects
ALT + S - Viewing distance gets reduced (saves in preformence)
Also makes certain objects Transparant

Manipulating Objects

CTRL+ Left/Right/Up/Down Arrow - Rotates object with steps of 10.00
Holding CTRL + SHIFT + " makes smaller steps of 0.10

PAGE-UP/DOWN also rotate the object by 10.00, hold shift for 0.10

INS/DEL - Lifts object Up/Down by 10.00
Again, pressing SHIFT makes smaller steps of 0.10

My first Tutorial ever, recorded in one go... so it is a little bit crappy, also don't mind the dutch accent (:
when you have to explain, it makes it much harder to find the correct words.

also i hate hearing my own voice back for some reason lol.

you *might* need to turn up the volume to hear it!

Some additional information that is and isn't in the video.

Sandbanks
-0.23
(you can also use -0.24 when you need to overlap sandbanks, personally... i don't do that, but i saw some original maps that use it.)

Ground textures
0.01 - 0.02 - 0.03

Overlap like 0.1, 0.2, 0.1, 0.2 etc to prevent flickering/flashing.

Another tip: open original maps and click the textures/models to see how they are placed and at what values.

I pressed TAB to see the heights in 3D
Raised the tiles per 0.40 (4x INS)
it is REALLY important you align the Ground tiles as best as you can, they do flash when they overlap!
