Very interesting paper by Herndon, Ash and Pollin which I enjoyed reading. However, whilst it does relate to 'austerity economics', it's in the context of national debt, not inflation. I guess that's largely my fault for throwing around the word 'austerity' when it currently has such a strong association with economic policies intended to deal with current high levels of national indebtedness.
I can't even remember the word 'austerity' being used to describe policies to reduce currency inflation but, given how such policies impact on ordinary people, i'd suggest it's still austerity by any other name.
